Newsletter - December 2012A Night at the Museum was held on June 14, 2012 with musical entertainment.A Fall Festival was held on Oct. 13, 2012 by the Chamber and we were open with games and gospel music. Received two grants in the year of 2012: Firestone-Prescott Community Fund Arkansas Humanities Council and Department of Arkansas Heritage Both grants were used on much needed items for the museum. Currently seeking a grant and funds to moved and restore a 1927 Red caboose in the year of 2013. This would be a great education tool for our local schools and visitors. We are currently seeking funds to restore a 1928 Whippet car, donated by Dorothy Stainton Garner, in memory of her brothers: Dr. Robert Stainton, and William Stainton. This car was built by the Wyllis Overland Motor Company. It would be a nice display for visitors if we can secure funds to restore. We are having visitors from around the world, latest was New Zealand, Canada. We love to talk about our town and the Civil War battles that were fought in this area. Come by and visit with us. |
