Obituary: Mr. Charles N. “Nelson” Mathews, age 54 of Carlisle, Arkansas passed away, Friday, December 13, 2019 in a local hospital. Nelson was born July 31, 1965 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Charles Mathews and Judith Louise Cornelius Mathews. He was currently employed for Walmart as a field Manger for 20 years. Member Panola Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas. His enjoyed hunting, and fishing most of all he loved his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, grandparents Lewis and Irene Cornelius, also Lloyd and Rosa Mathews. Survivors include, wife Melissa “Missy” Mathews, two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Mathews and Toni Mathews all of Carlisle, Arkansas, his father, Charles Mathews of Prescott, two sisters Barbara Dobson (Troy) of Pensacola, Fl and Shannon Ferguson of Morrilton, Arkansas, nephew, Matthew Dobson (Lauren) of Jacksonville, FL, three nieces: Ashley White (Eric) of Plumerville, AR, Rachel Phifer (Josh) of Russellville, AR, and Allison Ferguson of Morrilton, AR, two best friends Tony Crites, Phillip Leonard and his beloved puppy Ray Ray. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday December 16, 2019 at Brazzel/Cornish 1196 Hwy 371 West Prescott, Arkansas 71857. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday December 16, 2019 at Brazzel/Cornish Chapel with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial will follow in Nubbin Hill Cemetery, Prescott, Arkansas, Funeral arrangement under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
