Obituary: James Pettit, 73, of Reader, AR died Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home. He was born July 21, 1947 in Prescott, AR. He was a member of Reader Baptist Church, Reader Sportsman Club, LM Big M Club and a Vietnam War Veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Pettit of Reader, AR; three sons, Chad Pettit of Reader, AR, Randall Pettit and wife, Lupe of Prescott, AR and James Pettit of Lock 8, AR; daughter, Jeannie Provence of Dallas, TX; three step-sons, Charles McClure and Homer McClure both of Sparkman, AR, Ricky McClure of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Charles Olen Pettit of Reader, AR and Billy Gene Pettit and wife, Joan of Arkadelphia, AR; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; host of cousins, family and friends. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Proctor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:00AM Monday, June 28, 2021 at Bluff City Cemetery, Bluff City, AR. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
