Obituary: Wayne Carlton, 49, of Magnolia passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence. Wayne was born on July 3, 1968 in Hope. He served his county in the United States Air Force from 1992 to 1996. After his service with the Air Force, he worked as a firefighter with the Hope Fire Department and Hot Springs Fire Department. He was currently employed as an operator with Albemarle Corporation. He played basketball with the Southern Arkansas University Muleriders where they won the conference championship. He loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and playing golf. Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hazel and Basil Dorman and Eddie and Dollie Carlton. He is survived by a daughter, Regan Carlton and fiancĂ© Evan Wakefield of Nashville; son, Dylan Carlton of Magnolia; parents, Jimmy and Betty Carlton of Rosston; brothers, Jeff Carlton and wife Tara of Rosston and James Carlton of Rosston; children’s mother, Robin Barnard of Shongaloo, LA; and a host of extended family of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Phillips and Bro. Petie Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Bodcaw Cemetery No. 1 in Bodcaw. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Robert Pharr, Jerry McAfee, Robert Coleman, Troy Dunning, Jerry Modisette, Chris Mills and Todd Collier.
