I am looking for any information on Malvin Ottis Herring 1901-1985. I know he remarried in 1939 but don't know if they had any children. He had 1 child from his first marriage and I am the grand daughter of that child.

A George Fra(ncis) Herring died Nov. 1, 1944, in Columbia Co., Arkansas. Don't

know if he's your George F. Herring. If you're willing to take the risk, order the death certificate to find out.

Son Herbert E. and wife Coy Herring remained in Taylor Twnshp, Nevada Co.. Homer was there with them also, so he got listed twice in the 1920 census.

Son Vernon was boarding with the Butcher family in 1920.

Thank you for information. Some of it I hadn't found yet. Do you know if Malvin and Retha had any children? Or if they have any living relatives still living there? I would like to contact anyone that is willing to talk to me. My grandfather has passed away and my mom and Aunts only remember seeing Malvin once in their lives and that was back in the late 50's early 60's. Thank you so much again.

I don't have any further information regarding Malvin and Retha. Have you ordered copies of their death certificates to see who provided biographical details? Since Malvin outlived Retha, I wouldn't be surprised to discover that Malvin was the informant for Retha's details; although, if she (or they) had any children, one of them might have been the informant. But with Retha gone, who was the informant for Malvin's details?

I'll have to check into that. If you would like to know I will post it once I find out. Thank you again.

P.S. If you get death certificates, perhaps you'll find mention of which funeral home arranged their funerals, if any. Contact them and see if they have a copy of obituaries in their files which may list next of kin and friends. Also, I notice that both were buried in Willisville Cemetery, behind the Willisville United Methodist Church, which tells me--if I am not mistaken--that the Church maintains.the cemetery The picture indicates that Rev. Jerry Westmoreland was pastor at the time the picture was taken. Try contacting him (or his replacement), soliciting assistance in establishing contact with anyone in the community who may have known and remember Malvin and Retha and can tell you more.

This isn't my line. I've just been nosy, BTW, found G.F. Herring marriage to M.D. Reasons, 6th March 1895, in Nevada Co., Ark. In 1880 census, there is the following Reasons family in Taylor Township, Nevada Co.:
