Jo,

Are you referring to George Washington Waddle, b. 9/9/1882, m. Inez Ferguson on 7/4/1904? If you are he is the son of John Smith Waddle, Jr., b. 8/12/1849 in Haywood Co. TN. m Robert Alice Gormley on 12/24/1979. John's father was Archibald Howard Waddle, b. 11/11/1817 in TN m. Martha Eliza Kelso b. 1825 in Maury Co. TN. Archibald is my husband's gg grandfather and John is his ggrandmother, Emma Waddle's brother. Also Carol's ggrandfather's sister, Betty Lambert, was married to James Montgomery Waddle, John's brother. I have a great deal of information on these Waddles and you are welcome to anything I have on them. If you like, contact me at mlamber@earthlink.net, and I would love to talk to you about them.

            Mason/Waddle marriage in 1896 by Martha Carol (marthacarol@msn.com) on 2004-07-07 11:05 p.m.

Looking for any information on my grandmother "Jennie" Martha Virginia Mason > Waddle > Ivie. b:1865 around the Hope, Prescott area, d:1958 and was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery (white) under the name Jennie Mason Ivy.

John S WADDLE married Jennie Mason {Martha Virginia Mason} in the county of Nevada, Arkansas on April 26, 1896. I believe Mr. Waddle passed away in 1904, buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery (white).
On June 4, 1909, Mrs. Jennie Mason {Martha Virginia Mason-Waddle} married my grandfather H. W. Ivie in the county of Nevada, Arkansas.

Is John S. Waddle related to any of your family? If so, would you have any information that might list my grandmother parents or where she was born? Also, I noticed in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery that there were several infant babies listed with the last name Waddle. Would you know if John Waddle and my grandmother had any children? Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Please contact me at marthacarol@msn.com and type in MASON Info in the subject line.

Best regards, Martha Carol

I have found the family of John S. Waddle beginning with William in Rowan/NC.

His son, Moses Waddel, is found in Willington/SC, then Athens/Clarke/GA.

I have not as yet found any confirmed connections. Still looking.

Best of luck,

Jo

Joseph Kelso Waddle-Brother Of John Smith Waddle by sandra knops (sandyhogan@cox.net bounced) on 2008-07-16 11:27 a.m.

Hi,

It seems that Joseph K. and his wife Katie Ghormely Waddle raised my orphaned Grandpa Willard Holmes. This is the ONLY lead that I have in finding that side of the family. I would like to correspond with you. I do have a few more bits of info-rumor is that his dad was named Oscar Holmes and mother was Nora Ward who supposibly died and Willard also had a brother who died in an accident and I suspect that this is the 16 year old orphaned boy named Willie Holmes who died on Lige Matthews farm in an accident in 1912. Willard is listed with the Waddles in 1910 census. Any help would be appreciated...................Sandy Holmes Knops
