Jo, Are you referring to George Washington Waddle, b. 9/9/1882, m. Inez Ferguson on 7/4/1904? If you are he is the son of John Smith Waddle, Jr., b. 8/12/1849 in Haywood Co. TN. m Robert Alice Gormley on 12/24/1979. John's father was Archibald Howard Waddle, b. 11/11/1817 in TN m. Martha Eliza Kelso b. 1825 in Maury Co. TN. Archibald is my husband's gg grandfather and John is his ggrandmother, Emma Waddle's brother. Also Carol's ggrandfather's sister, Betty Lambert, was married to James Montgomery Waddle, John's brother. I have a great deal of information on these Waddles and you are welcome to anything I have on them. If you like, contact me at mlamber@earthlink.net, and I would love to talk to you about them.
