Morris (or Caney) by Jerry McKelvy (jmckelvy@cei.net) on 2005-12-24 6:04 p.m.

Does anyone happen to know the origin of the name Morris for the community in Nevada County known locally as the Caney community?

Hi! I have a Morris line that lived in Hot Springs County and had a grocery store. I'm not familar with Caney Community. I have traced them back to North Carolina so far. If this is of any help. They migrated from North Carolina, to Tennessee, then to Texas, then to Nevada County, then to Hot Springs County, Arkansas.

Let me know if this can be of help.

Neva
