Obituary: George Wilson Lewis, 90, of Hooks, TX passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at his home. George was born September 10, 1931, in Bodcaw, AR to Carl and Retha Russell Lewis. He was retired from the Red River Army Depot, a Mason, a Retired Korean War Army Sergeant, and a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. George was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Maxine Lewis, mother and father, son George Wilson Lewis, Jr; sister Murlene Boswell, two brothers Garland and Jimmy Lewis, daughter Wanda Ortiz, granddaughter Jodie Butler, and great grandson Isiah Wagstaff. Survivors include three sons Jimmy Michael Lewis (Sarah) of Maud, TX, Jim Darden (Julie) of Hooks, TX, and Tim Darden f Hooks, TX; a brother Joe Lewis (Jackie); a sister Martha Hall; special friend Peggy Pilgrim; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and his furry friend Peanut. Graveside services will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Snell Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
