Obituary: Verna Mae Stevens, 98, passed away October 14, 2022. Verna was born April 27, 1924, in Postland, Arkansas to Claude and Bellita McCain. She was the first of six children. She was followed by her sister, Irma, and four brothers, Elmer, Ralph, Davy and Lincoln. Verna’s father was a farmer and they moved a lot during her growing up years. Jimmy work for the oil companies and they travelled all over the world and lived for a time in Kuwait. Verna was deeply religious and spoke all the time about the Rapture and reuniting with her family in Heaven. She was a loving and generous person to everyone that knew her. Our most sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Rosemont Assisted Living home in West Monroe, Louisiana, for their loving care of Verna in her last years. She loved you all.
