| Obituary: | On January 24, 2026, Arval Tilman Cox, of Buckner, Arkansas (Falcon Community) passed quietly from this world to his heavenly home, surrounded by his family. To know him, was to love him. Arval was born on August 26, 1940, to Arval and Allie Cox. Arval was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lewisville, Arkansas. Arval was a railroad engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad for thirty plus years, he was a farmer and enjoyed spending time with his cattle. As if that were not enough to do, Arval and his first wife Harlia owned and operated the Falcon Store for many years following in the footsteps of his Uncle H.Dl Cox. After a few years of retirement Arval decided to go back to collaborating with his cousin and best friend, Gary Pierce, at Pierce Builders. He worked hand in hand with Gary until he retired again at 85 years old. Arval and his wife Penny had a love to travel and over the years they experienced many beautiful sights and countryside all over the United States and the world. Once Pennys sister Linda and brother-in-law Bruce retired, they all started traveling together, many memories and many funny moments they shared. Arval was preceded in death by his parents, Arval & Allie Cox, his first wife Harlia Cox, Aunt and Uncle H.D. & Lena Cox, stepfather Jesse Whitley and Naomi Whitley, son-in-law Allen Baker and grandson Brian Gentry. He is survived by his wife Penny Cox, his beloved daughters Rhonda Rameriz (Noel), Millie Knight (John), and Regina Irizarry (Nelson). Penny’s children, whom he loved as his own, April Golden (Robby), Jerry Reaves, Dustin Mills(Chelsey), Tyler Mills (Sarah). One sister, Vicki Smith (Steve). He also leaves a legacy behind of 22 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter, Harlie. Dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and sons-in-law, many friends and neighbors. Honoring Mr. Cox as pallbearers are: John Ward, John Knight, Dustin Mills, James Jones, Nelson Irizarry, and Matthew Cumbie. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 31, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at A.O Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Stamps, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be held at A. O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 3:00 pm with Bro. James Cox officiating, assisted by Bro. Ed Phillips. Interment will follow at Falcon Cemetery, under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, Arkansas. A quote he believed in and quoted often over the last few weeks of his time on earth was “And in the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years.” In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Falcon Cemetery s/o Millie Knight 2791 Hwy 355, Buckner, Arkansas. 71827 |
