Obituary: Jimmie Ardell (May) Card passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the age of 97 years. She was born August 10, 1922, in Bodcaw, AR, to Alex May and Lola Boswell May. Mrs. Card received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and upon her public profession of faith became a member of the Bodcaw #2 Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, infant Earl, Ober May of Bodcaw, AR, and Jake May of Rosston, AR; one sister, Merle (May) Silvey and niece, Jean (Silvey) Franks of Texarkana, AR. She is survived by three nieces, Jackie (Silvey) de Cordova and Joyce (Silvey) Pinkerton of Texarkana, AR, and Rhonda (May) Morgan of Camden, AR; one nephew, Larry Silvey of Hope, AR; a number of great-nephews and great-nieces including Diane (Franks) Rankin of Wake Village, TX, and other extended family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in the Union Cemetery near Bodcaw, AR, under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas, and officiated by her nephew, Pastor Larry Silvey. The family is grateful to the staff of Waterton Plaza for the care they have given to Mrs. Card over the past 11 years.
