Obituary: William Trosie Formby, age 87 of Boughton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025. He was born in the Boughton community of Nevada County on July 4, 1937, to his parents Trosie William Formby and Lille Ruth Cottingham Formby. He was a true American farmer. William was educated in Nevada County. He attended first grade at Boughton School, and the remainder of his education was in Prescott after Boughton consolidated. He loved school, his teachers, and every one of his classmates. He loved Curley Wolf sports. He played basketball and football excelling in both sports. He was a loyal "Curley Wolf". After high school he attended Midwest Business School in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated as a telegrapher. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for a period until he was called home to take over the family farm because of a family health emergency. William never looked back. He loved everything about the farm. He grew cotton, soybeans, hay, chickens, angora goats, and cows. He owned the first mechanical cotton picker in Nevada County. He was the Nevada County farmer of the year in 1975. He was honored with many other awards for his outstanding service to Nevada County and Arkansas Farm Bureau. William was a very humble and hardworking man. He loved his Lord, his family, and his many friends. William served his country in the Army National Guard, Company C for thirteen years. He was saved during a revival at Boughton Baptist Church whose pastor was Dexter Blevins at the time. He later joined First Baptist Church in Prescott where he faithfully served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, committee member, and any other capacity needed until he became unable to serve because of his health. William was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Linda Susan Formby Wright. William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda Cathey Formby, one son Phillip Wayne Formby and his wife Glenda, one son-in-law, Dow G Wright, three grandsons: Jonathan Trosie Formby, and his wife Heather, Brady Gillam Wright and his wife Allison, and Mark William Wright, his granddaughter Lily Elizabeth Formby Bruce, and her husband Taylor, two great granddaughters Emerie Grace Formby and Mila Hope Formby, and one great grandson Noah Jax Formby. He is also survived by two brothers Carlton E (Buddy) Formby and his wife Betty, and Max Harold Formby and his wife Karen Ann. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, a host of extended family, and friends. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday May 28, 2025 at BRAZZEL/Cornish 1196 Hwy 371 West Prescott, Arkansas 71857 Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Wednesday May 28, 2025, at BRAZZEL/Cornish. Burial to follow at De Ann Cemetery. Brother Mike Puckett and Brother Neal Ridling will officiate. Honoring William as Pallbearers are Jonathan Formby, Brady Wright, Mark Wright, Taylor Bruce, Russ Formby, Nick Formby, Jim Formby and Jim Christian. Honorary pallbearers are James Lee Barns, Carl Dalrymple, and Dan Yowell.
