Obituary: William Fay Avery, age 90, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1934 in Prescott, Arkansas to his parents Chester and Thelma Avery. He graduated from Blevins High School in 1952. He always had a passion for cattle and raised them for several years. He retired from Gurdon Wood Products (IP). He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ruthal Lowdermilk and Dorothy Hicks. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Janet Sanford (Kevin) of Prescott, Connie Bagley of Van, Texas; two grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Sanford, Kelli (Hunter) Mayall; four grandchildren, Kingsley Sanford, Presley Sanford, Luna Mayall, and Niko Mayall; two brothers, Wendell Avery of Hope, Chester Ray Avery (Jean) of Prescott; one sister, Carolyn Largent of Texarkana, Arkansas; along with many friends. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Prescott. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home with Bro. James Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
