Obituary: | Ralph Wayne McKinnon, fondly known as “Silver Bullet” on his CB radio, age 83, of Prescott, Arkansas, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Russellville, Arkansas, leaving behind a life filled with love, laughter, and a boundless zeal for life. Following a private family committal in the “Chapel of Light,” cremation arrangements were provided by the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service, in Russellville. The family will plan a memorial service at a later date in Prescott, with inurnment at Moscow Cemetery in Prescott. The son of Harvey and Clyda Ethel (Brown) McKinnon, Ralph was born June 23, 1941, in Prescott. He married Belinda Anita (Lambert) McKinnon on June 25, 1976, at Texarkana, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Jake McKinnon; and a grandson, Tyler McKinnon. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Belinda McKinnon; two daughters, Tina McKinnon of Russellville, and Beverly Stockton (Nat) of Prescott; a son, Brandon McKinnon (Ashley) of Castle Rock, Colorado; three grandchildren: Caitlin Love (Hunter), Kellen Stockton (Jill), and Avery McKinnon; one great granddaughter, Ava Dawson; a brother, Thomas McKinnon; and three sisters: Mary Lou Cobb, Judy Martin and Joan Barton. His family will remember Ralph as a man who lived life to the fullest, a guiding light, and the source of countless happy memories. His children, and indeed everyone who knew Ralph, will remember his infectious laugh, his love for life, and the wisdom he shared. During most of his working years, Ralph ran his own business in the logging industry, McKinnon Logging. He also ran a small cattle farm at home. Most days he would start before daylight and not stop until well after dark. He and his CB radio friends across the country kept each other entertained during those long hauls. They will all hold fond memories of his voice crackling over the airwaves, bringing laughter and comfort during those late-night conversations. Ralph was the kind of person that one would describe as a “Jack of all trades,” and enjoyed doing things for others. He was an accomplished diesel mechanic and loved working on things and inventing helpful gadgets of all kinds. He loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed hard work like hauling gravel, operating a tractor, mowing, and gardening. He and Belinda held a strong value in their faith and greatly enriched their lives in worship and service with the Central Baptist Church in Prescott. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." Ralph exemplified this quote beautifully. His spirit was as captivating as his love for life, and his unique qualities, such as his quick wit, sense of humor, and warmth, made him a joy to be around. The family would like to suggest memorial donations be made to Moscow Cemetery, 1396 Nevada 23, Prescott, Arkansas. We encourage those who knew Ralph to visit his memorial page at www.humphreyfuneral.com. Share your memories, upload photos, and celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. It is in these shared memories that Ralph's spirit will continue to live on, touching the hearts of those he left behind. His was a life well-lived, and his memory will be |
