Obituary: Margaret Elizabeth Calhoun-Magee, age 72, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2025, in Prescott. Margaret was born March 22,1953 in Prescott to Margurite Effie Reyenga Calhoun and Denzil Odell Calhoun. She was a member of Honey Grove Cowboy Church in Bonham, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sharlett Craig and brother, Larry Calhoun. She is survived by her son, Nick Magee of Texarkana, TX. Two grandchildren, Brently and Hayden, their mother Marie Fürry. Her sister, Brenda (Todd) Prewitt of Prescott. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was a successful shoe sales woman for Martin’s and Dillard’s for 25 years. She retired after 17 years as a prison guard for the Texas Department of Corrections. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and making people happy. Brenda and Todd would like to thank her precious caregivers for taking excellent care of her; Jodie Armstrong, Misty Stovall, Nicole Billingsly, Tracy McNeil, and Brittany Armstrong. Also, the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice for their excellent service. Thank you all for loving Margaret so much. Graveside services will be held 3:00pm Friday, September 19, 2025, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Bro. Neal Ridling and Bro. Damian Rodgers officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott.
