Obituary: Marcella (Marcie) Kay Burke, aged 78, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on October 26, 2025. Born on July 23, 1947, in Monaville, West Virginia, to Sidney and Margaret Burke, Marcie was a beloved member of her community. She was a dedicated nurse, a profession she cherished deeply, as it allowed her to help others, a passion she held throughout her life. Marcie was known for her warm and welcoming nature, never meeting a stranger and being loved by many. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Brenda and Elouise, her brother Mike, and her eldest son, David Adkins. Marcie leaves behind a loving family, including her children Michael Adkins, Tina Tollett (Gary), Scott Adkins, and Tammy Ferguson (Logan); her sisters Patricia Jones (Roger) and Jeannie Burke; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marcie’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, October 30, from 12pm to 1:30pm at the Brazzel Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, AR. Graveside service will follow, Thursday, October 30, 3025, 2pm at Liberty Cemetery in Prescott, AR. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
