Obituary: Phillip Marlar "Groover" , 64, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born August 1, 1961 to Donald and Maddlean Marlar. Philip is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Diane Marlar, Grandmother Mildred “Big Momma” Glass, Grandfather Lige “Pa” Glass and uncle Coy Glass. Philip leaves behind one brother, Ricky Marlar of Prescott, one son, Christopher Marlar (Katlin Tye) of Caney and twin daughters, Mendi Cross (Justin Cross) of Gurdon and Wendi Marlar (Jaise McIntosh) of Texarkana. Five granddaughters, Madalynn Ingersoll, Saylur and Cortland Robertson, Olivia McIntosh and Hadley Cross. Three grandsons, Malaky Mendoza, Montgomery Cross and Gage Tye. A special little guy, Chandler Ratcliff. Philip was an avid hunter. He especially loved turkey season, not for himself but to call up a big one for his brother Ricky. During deer season he loved to hand out fines to the members of the Glass Deer Camp. He was a dedicated member of the Swamp Rider Motorcycle Club where he found an unremarkable brotherhood. Graveside service will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, 2pm, at Caney Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
