Obituary: Mariam Menser Muse Purtle, age 100, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away on Friday December 30, 2022. She was born on September 24, 1922 to Roland and Hattie Dean Menser. She grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ester Atchley, Dimple Barentine, brother Roland Menser, the father of her two children Donald P. Muse (1960) and second husband Wallace C. Purtle (1987). Ms. Purtle is survived by her two daughters Donna Muse Sharp (Gary) of Prosper, TX, Kathy Muse Jackson of Texarkana, TX. , two grandchildren, Jennifer Noonan (Tim) of Prosper, TX., and Kyle Jackson (Beth) of Gurdon, Arkansas, five great grandchildren Sean, Brooke, Claire, Presley, and Laityn. Ms. Purtle and husband Donald moved to Prescott in 1959 where he served as Head Football and Basketball Coach. After his death, Ms. Purtle worked for the Prescott school system for a number of years retiring in 1988. She was an active member of the 1 st Baptist Church in Prescott and served the community-once recognized as "volunteer of the year" Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January , 2023 at DeAnn Cemetery conducted by Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home.
